In Baltimore

2009 May 12

I am sitting in my hotel room in Baltimore after a VERY long day.

I got up at about 3:40am Central Time to drive to Atlanta, catch a plane, land at BWI, get a rental car, and drive ALL OVER the region (Annapolis, Baltimore, Bel Air, Towson, and more!)  Any place I have found to send a resume previously, I stopped by to follow-up today.

Honestly, nothing really developed, but there’s a face attached to the resume now.  I have an actual appointment set up for 10am EDT tomorrow. Pray that something shakes loose SOON!

Driving around the area, I discover new stuff every time I come.  Very little of what I find doesn’t appeal to me.  I am drawn to the area.  There’s no doubt about that.  My vision of what God could do through us in this region just keeps growing. I long to be here and to have Emily and Katie begin to plant our lives here for a long time.  I firmly and fully believe God has called us to this place.  It is very frustrating that it is taking so long for the calling to become reality.  As other chapters of our life continue to come to a close, I feel like this new chapter is immanent . . . but the doors just haven’t opened yet.  But it’s not for lack of trying and lack of knocking.  And I’m gonna keep on knocking!

I sure do miss sharing these moments with Emily and Katie.  Got to talk to them on the phone.  It’s so exciting to know that Katie now recognizes my voice on the phone.  It’s amazing how quickly she is growing up.

Off to find some food and drive around a little more until dark . . .
