NASCAR Nation – Part 1
The following is an excerpt from an article in Delta’s Sky Magazine that I read last week during my trip to Baltimore. I’ll follow up with my thoughts later (emphasis in excerpt is mine) . . .
The South is what we’ve had all along in the bizarre, slightly troubling, basically wonderful country — fun, danger, real friendliness, energy, enthusiasm, and brave, crazy, tough people. After all, America is where the toughest crazy people on the planet came to do anything they damn pleased. And a NASCAR weekend pretty much covers all the everything.
I think all of us who live in New York and such like places better quick have a drink and do something loud. Otherwise this country might turn into Europe.
