Church Planting

For those of you that don’t know, I have been spending a lot of time praying about the possibility of relocating to the Baltimore area to work with or pastor a Church plant. I am at the very beginning of this process, so there’s not much information to share, yet.  But this page will be a placeholder where I will share information as it is ready.

Name: working name – Transformation Church

Location: Probably near or in TOWSON, MD.
Timing: Sometime in 2009.

*Update – 8-12-09* — We are now residents of Towson, Maryland!  We are still looking for employment to pay bills.  We are starting to refine the Transform Baltimore vision and revise our calendar, budget, etc.  Look for more information soon! 

*Update – 6-12-09* — Despite not yet having an architecture job, it looks like we will be stepping out in faith and moving to Baltimore at the end of July.  A few leads are promising, but not breaking loose yet.  We are looking for any and every opportuntiy to meet financial obligations until a job comes along.  Contact us for more info or to help.

*Update – 1-19-09* — We are still waiting for a job to break loose.  I have had a couple of good job leads, but with the sluggish economy, nothing has firmed up yet.  As soon as I get an architecture job in the Towson/Baltimore area, we will be relocating.  Please pray for a job!

*Update – 8-16-08* — Our house is sold!  We are living in a rental in Auburn and will relocate to Towson in January, provided I find a job.  I have at least one good job lead.  We started a more focused effort to raise prayer and financial support.  If you want info, email us at info@transformbaltimore.com

*Update – 7-14-08* — We’re back from our scouting trip.  We’re pretty well convinced we’ll be moving to Towson, Maryland by the end of January, 2009 . . . Pray for our house to sell and for me to find a job in architecture to pay the bills until we get the church thing going.

*Update – 6-18-08* — Emily and I are planning a scouting trip for July.  After a lot of research, we have one community we are going to focus on, and two back-ups.  This trip will probably settle us in on where we will focus our initial efforts to Transform Baltimore.  I’ve also updated a few odds-n-ends on this page as the vision has developed.

*Update – 5-3-08* — OK, so this update is WAY overdue.  Since Emily and I are expecting our first child in September, we have decided to put off relocating until at least the end of 2008.  In the mean-time, we are working on some transitions and on how to do some minor modifications to our lifestyle to improve our ability to lead a church plant.  We’re also taking advantage of the extra time to impress on some folks to consider relocating with us to be a part of a launch team.

Also, be praying for Emily and I as we try and prepare for this major shift.  We have some personal and financial issues to get resolved before this totally overwhelms us.  I’m just glad she’s 100% on board this early in the game!
