Church Planting
For those of you that don’t know, I have been spending a lot of time praying about the possibility of shifting away from architecture to be the lead pastor of a Church plant. I am at the very beginning of this process, so there’s not much information to share, yet. But this page will be a placeholder where I will share information as it is ready.
Currently, I am putting together a graphical presentation of the basic structure and goals for the church. I have gotten some feedback from other church planters and am doing some minor refining, so I may be letting it loose soon . . .
Name: working name - Transformation Church
Working Tag Line: Changing a cold disconnected attitude into a desire to make God famous.

Location: Probably near or in Baltimore, MD.
Timing: Sometime in 2008 or 2009.
*Update - 5-3-08* — OK, so this update is WAY overdue. Since Emily and I are expecting our first child in September, we have decided to put off relocating until at least the end of 2008. In the mean-time, we are working on some transitions and on how to do some minor modifications to our lifestyle to improve our ability to lead a church plant. We’re also taking advantage of the extra time to impress on some folks to consider relocating with us to be a part of a launch team.
*UPDATE - 3-3-08* — The assessment process is moving along. We are going to Baltimore next week to begin looking at particular areas. I am presenting the vision to one of our supporting church as a luncheon tomorrow. WOW, reality is starting to set in.
*UPDATE - 12-17-07* — There is now a Director of Church Planting at Embrace Baltimore, Dr. Troy Bush. He and I have spoken and he has cleared us to begin the assessment process with BCMD. I will continue to update as the process progresses.
Yeah, so, I need your prayers as this starts to come together . . . there’s obviously more blanks and questions than answers at this point, but it is moving forward. I also invite your comments, questions, and feedback.
Also, be praying for Emily and I as we try and prepare for this major shift. We have some personal and financial issues to get resolved before this totally overwhelms us. I’m just glad she’s 100% on board this early in the game!
